Hello, World! Please welcome me to the wonderful world of blogging. It’s all Amy’s fault. Like many in the “over-30″ group, I had no idea what a “blog” was. (It is a “web log,” for anyone in my soon-to-be vast readership who may not know.) Then Amy started one. I became a loyal reader, and then became a regular commenter on her blog. As that became more fun, and as my comments became more frequent and lengthy, she suggested that I start my own. I hesitated, as privacy is a concern of mine. Then football season ended, so here I sit on the first Sunday afternoon post-football and I’m fiddling on the computer. Suddenly, I have a blog!
So, what does it all mean? Do I have an audience? Or am I essentially writing to myself? Can I express political views without being incurring an unsavory label? I just don’t know. Perhaps I’ll take it slow and test the waters first. Either way, I am excited. Writing has always been a favored activity of mine, so I think I will enjoy this forum. If anyone happens upon this, please say hi. I am sure to be happy to know that you’re there.
